Designed to develop greater appreciation and understanding of natural phenomena. Learn about the science aspects and how geology shapes our world, and also to give students an appreciation for our National Parks.
Lori Snyder was born and raised in Colorado, where she became interested in the outdoors at an early age. She attended Colorado State University receiving a B.S. in Geology. She then worked for two years with the Idaho Geological Survey and US geological Survey doing mineral assessment in proposed wilderness areas. Professor Snyder completed a M.S. at the University of British Columbia in Economic Geology. She has taught here at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire since 1995 and during the summers she works for the Canadian Geological Survey doing Geological Mapping.
