Introduction to College English

Dr. Joel Pace

This course uses novels, poems, films and pop-culture as texts by which the students will be introduced to critical thinking, writing, reading and discussion. The course is offered and taught both Fall and Spring semester by Joel Pace.

Meet the Professor!

Joel Pace is Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. He completed his masters and doctorate in English at Oxford University and has published numerous articles and chapters as well as two books: Wordsworth in American Literary Culture (co-edited with Dr. Matthew Scott) and (with Drs. Lance Newman and Chris Koenig-Woodyard) the first reader of transatlantic literary studies, Transatlantic Romanticism: An Anthology of British, American, and Canadian Literature, 1767?1867. Research for these publications was completed during his time as a fellow of Brown University?s Center for the Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage.
