Dr. Eric Kasper

Eric T. Kasper is an assistant professor of political science. He earned his BA degree in political science with a legal studies emphasis from UW-Eau Claire before earning three degrees from UW-Madison: an MA in political science, a PhD in political science, and a JD in law. At UW-Eau Claire he teaches POLS 110 (American National Politics), POLS 311 (Contemporary Political Thought), POLS 338 (Judicial Politics), POLS 403 (U.S. Constitutional Principles – Powers of Government), and POLS 404 (U.S. Constitutional Principles – Civil Liberties). Professor Kasper has published several scholarly writings, including journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews. To date, he has also published three books: To Secure the Liberty of the People: James Madison’s Bill of Rights and the Supreme Court’s Interpretation, Don’t Stop Thinking About the Music: The Politics of Songs and Musicians in Presidential Campaigns (with Benjamin Schoening), and Impartial Justice: The Real Supreme Court Cases that Define the Constitutional Right to a Neutral and Detached Decisionmaker. Dr. Kasper lives in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, where he also serves as the city’s municipal judge.
