Dr. Patricia Turner

Professor Turner was born and raised in California, graduating with B.A.s in both History and Comparative Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her PhD in History from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and taught for seven years at Lehigh University. It was at Lehigh that her students nicknamed her Dr. T. She came to UW-Eau Claire as an associate professor in 2001. Her research specialties include modern France and comparative European History, civil society and social conflict theory. She teaches G.E. and honors courses under the general rubric of interdisciplinary history, including Human Rights and the Origins of Current World Conflicts (History 292), 20th Century Europe (History 326), and History in Fiction, Fiction in History (Honors colloquium), as well as the capstone research sequence for History majors and seminars for history graduate students.
