Bachelor's degree in Psychology, UWEC, master's degree in Family Social Science, U of Minnesota. I have been teaching here since 1983 while also engaging in service work. For nearly 30 years my husband and I organized and led humanitarian and educational projects in Latin America, China, and Japan. We set up five dental clinics in Nicaragua and six in Bolivia. I worked annually in a series of orphanages and street shelters in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Working with Rotary International we set up water and sanitation systems. I also presented academic classes and workshops in various institutions in Latin America. In 2006 my husband (David Crane, a Chippewa dentist) and I were awarded the Lifetime Excellence award by the UWEC Alumni Association for 25 years of humanitarian work in Latin America. I am also a past president of the Wisconsin Council on Family Relations.
