Dr. David Tschida

Dr. David Tschida is an Assistant Professor in the Communications and Journalism Department. He is a native of Minnesota and earned a B.A. from St. Cloud State University. He received an M.A from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Dr. Tschida has taught at colleges and universities in Nebraska, Missouri and Minnesota, until coming to UW-Eau Claire. Courses he teaches include Rhetoric of Popular Culture, Communication Analysis and Rhetoric and Society. His research primarily focuses on how we communicate about environmental issues in public communication (e.g. a Supreme Court decision), in media studies (e.g. on the TV program Whale Wars) or in cultural studies (e.g. nature writing). When he is not at UW-Eau Claire, he enjoys camping, hiking and fishing in state and national parks with his wife. They also enjoy growing vegetables in their garden, cooking and of course, eating!
