A global history of humankind. Emphasis on the growth of international commerce, the rise and fall of empires, industrialization and deindustrialization, and changes in types of governance, belief systems, gender structures, and the environment.
Meet the Professor
James W. Oberly is currently a professor of history at UWEC, and he earned his doctorate from the University of Rochester. Dr. Oberly currently teaches classes on HIST 369-Wisconsin Indian History HIST 336-Sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction His areas of specialty are pre-Reconstruction American history (pre-1877) and Native American history.
